Recursive Flint
A free open-weight coding model built to run agentic coding locally on a laptop.
Flint is Recursive's first model, released October 21, 2026. It is a mixture-of-experts coding model with 40 billion total and 2.5 billion active parameters. The weights are free on Hugging Face under the Apache 2.0 license. It works with llama.cpp, Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM and SGLang, so code stays on your machine and there are no API fees. Recursive says it runs at more than 125 tokens a second on an M4 Pro MacBook Pro.
