Gemini API CLI
An experimental command-line tool that gives developers and coding agents the Gemini API from the terminal.
Google released the Gemini API CLI (gemini-api) as an experimental preview on October 19, 2026. It is a zero-dependency binary for macOS, Linux and Windows that brings Gemini reasoning, media generation, multimodal analysis and Managed Agents to the shell and to coding agents. The CLI is free and open source (Apache 2.0). Usage is billed at Gemini API rates, which have a Free tier and a Paid tier.
